Junior Program

Our Junior Program provides elite instructional programming in a fun-filled environment, grounded in the fundamental principles of etiquette, integrity and sportsmanship.  While offering a top-quality learning experience for newcomers of any age and skill level, BT’s Junior Program is designed to consistently, comprehensively and continuously develop young beginners and enable them to achieve their full potential as high school tournament players. 

2-Week Summer Sessions

  • Session IV:  August 8 – 17

          *One makeup class allowed per session

Level 1 – Develops fundamental tennis skills like balance, racket handling, rallies, and scoring.
Red Foam Ball – 0-1 year experience

Level 2 – Involves mastering basic strokes and grips, focusing on rallies and tennis principles.
Red Foam Ball – 1-2 year(s) experience

Level 3 – Advances to perfecting swings, mastering longer strokes, directing the ball, scoring, and etiquette, while introducing spins and volleys.
Orange Ball – 2-3 years experience

Level 4 – Enhances competitive abilities with full swings, spin usage, serve variations, stroke control, and strategic movement.
Green Dot Ball – 3-4 years experience

Level 5 – Hones mental and physical skill by refining stances, spins, serve strategies, off-court training, and game tactics.
Green Dot Ball – 4+ years experience

Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday

Level 1 – Works on the basic motor fundamentals of tennis such as balance and movement along with proper handling of a racket, building rallies, and learning to keep score.

Level 2 – Teaches basic strokes with a simple grip. Players focus on building rallies and understanding tennis concepts.

Level 3 – Focuses on finishing the swing, learning longer strokes, directing the ball, keeping score and understanding the rules. Spin and volleys are also introduced and students begin to learn tennis etiquette.

Level 4 – Emphasizes competitive skills such as developing full swings combined with the use of spin, movement during the serve, changing direction and depth on strokes and moving effectively at different speeds.

Level 5 – Refines mental and physical skills: adopting different stances, changing spins and speeds, spin on the serve, movement through off-court training and developing game plans.  

Tournament Select – This program is for players with considerable USTA and high school tournament experience. Players must have the approval of Tennis Director Chris Shaya or Junior Program Director Paco Trinidad for entrance to this group.

BT Elite – BT Elite classes are under the direction of Tennis Director Chris Shaya and Junior Program Director Paco Trinidad; invite only.
